How to Book Sushi Sanshin in Osaka (2026)

요약Book Sushi Sanshin on OMAKASE at 08:00 JST on the 1st of each month, when the whole following month opens; one booking per quarter, card required. Japanese-language phone seats open exactly one week ahead at 17:00, and the house points overseas guests to TableAll. Whoever books must sit at the counter.

Sushi Sanshin is booked through three doors, and one of them does most of the work. The main door is OMAKASE: on the 1st of every month at 08:00 JST, the whole following month opens, with a card required and a limit of one booking per quarter. A few Japanese‑language phone seats open exactly one week ahead at 17:00, and the house itself points overseas guests to TableAll. Whichever door you use, the person who books must be the person who sits down.

The rule is already on our Sushi Sanshin release calendar entry. This guide is the playbook around it.

The house in brief

Sushi Sanshin (鮨 三心) was opened in 2016 by Yoshitaka Ishibuchi, born in Kumamoto in 1978, after 21 years of training in Osaka, according to the house’s official site. It occupies a traditional townhouse near Osaka Castle, five to six minutes on foot from Exit 6 of Tanimachi 6-chome station. Eight counter seats; lunch only, in two seatings at 11:30 and 14:00; irregular closing days.

The official site gives the omakase at ¥30,800 with tax as a base price that moves with the season. Cash and cards are taken; e‑money and QR payments are not. Guests must be 18 or over, and perfume is declined.

Michelin’s own store page lists Sushi Sanshin as a One Star in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Japan, at 2‑7‑14 Uchikyuhojimachi, Chuo‑ku (checked 18 October 2026). The Tabelog Award gave it Gold in both 2025 and 2026.

How to do it: the OMAKASE drop

The official site’s own example: December’s dates open on 1 November at 08:00 JST. For the two drops ahead, 08:00 JST falls here:

Your city 1 Nov 2026 drop (December seats) 1 Dec 2026 drop (January seats)
Los Angeles 31 Oct, 16:00 30 Nov, 15:00
New York 31 Oct, 19:00 30 Nov, 18:00
London 31 Oct, 23:00 30 Nov, 23:00
Paris 1 Nov, 00:00 1 Dec, 00:00
Hong Kong & Singapore 1 Nov, 07:00 1 Dec, 07:00
Sydney 1 Nov, 10:00 1 Dec, 10:00

For readers in the Americas and the UK the drop lands on the evening of the last day of the previous month, and for continental Europe it lands at midnight, so set the alarm by the date in this table, not by the 1st.

  1. Open the account days before, not minutes before. OMAKASE needs a mobile number that can receive SMS and a registered card; the steps are in how the OMAKASE platform works.
  2. Spend the quarter wisely. When we last read the OMAKASE page (7 September 2026), it limited each account to one Sanshin booking per quarter. Use it on the date you are surest of, not a speculative one.
  3. Choose before 08:00. Date, seating (11:30 or 14:00) and party size should be settled in advance. The entire month appears at once and the first minutes decide it.
  4. Book in the name of someone who will attend. See below; this is not a formality.
  5. Be logged in at 08:00 JST, on the restaurant’s page rather than the platform’s home screen.
  6. If the month goes, move to the phone seats rather than waiting for the next drop.

The phone seats

A small number of seats are sold by phone, in Japanese only, on 06‑6767‑0677. Each date opens exactly one week before, at 17:00 JST, first come; the official site’s example is that a 3 November seat opens on 27 October at 17:00. It also warns that the line is heavily congested at precisely 17:00, and that once seats are gone, calls go to a recorded Japanese message saying reception has closed.

Which dates are offered by phone is announced once, at month‑end, in Instagram stories on the house account (@trinity_spirit). The story is not reposted, so the official site advises taking a screenshot. For November dates, that means watching the account in the last days of October.

From abroad, 17:00 JST is 08:00 in London and 03:00 in New York through the winter, and the caller needs to be fluent Japanese.

TableAll, and Tabelog

The official site recommends TableAll to overseas guests, noting that fees and terms differ by service. As a guide figure, the TableAll page lists the Sanshin lunch course at ¥40,000, which it says includes its ¥8,000 booking fee, behind a button labelled “Reservation Request”. The same page shows “16 & UP”; the house’s rule is 18 and over, and the official site itself warns that booking services may display the age limit differently. Follow the house. The service is explained in our TableAll review.

The official site also notes that seats can sometimes be found on Tabelog, so it is worth checking the listing’s vacancy calendar.

What “the booker must attend” means for overseas guests

Tabelog’s store information sets out the house terms: reservations cannot be transferred, the person who made the booking must come, and arriving more than 30 minutes late cancels the seat. In practice:

  • A friend in Japan cannot book with their OMAKASE account on your behalf unless they are dining with you.
  • Seats passed along or resold are not valid at this counter.
  • For a party of two, the booker must be one of the two.
  • From Kyoto or Kobe, plan arrival with margin; the 11:30 seating leaves little room for a delayed train.

How Sanshin compares with other Osaka sushi counters

We counted this from our own release calendar on 18 October 2026. The calendar holds 1,514 houses, of which 20 are sushi counters in Osaka Prefecture. Five sell mainly through OMAKASE, five rely mainly on the phone, three on TableCheck, three take introductions or members only, two take no reservations, and two use other sites.

Only two of the twenty publish a fixed day and hour. Sushi Sanshin opens on the 1st at 08:00; Sushi Ooga in Sakai opens on the 15th at 15:00, three months ahead, one booking a month. Among the other OMAKASE counters, Takahashi Kentaro opens blocks at 11:00 on dates it announces, also one booking per quarter; Sushi Shizuku Shinsaibashi allows one booking per month per account and takes no phone calls; and Jinsei had its next round marked to be decided when last checked.

Across all 1,514 houses, six open on the 1st of the month at 08:00 JST. Sanshin is the only sushi counter among them; the others are three Tokyo yakitori houses and two kaiseki rooms, including Soujiki Nakahigashi in Kyoto. For the wider city, see how to book restaurants in Osaka.

How we keep this record

Our Sanshin record was last verified on 4 October 2026 against six sources: the official site, the OMAKASE page (read 7 September 2026, which then showed the next round at 1 October, 08:00, and the one‑per‑quarter limit), Tabelog, Michelin’s store page and two years of Tabelog Award results. We re‑read the official site on 18 October 2026 and found the booking rules unchanged. Requests for Sanshin that reach our reservation desk are worked from the same record.

자주 묻는 질문

When does Sushi Sanshin release reservations?

On OMAKASE, the whole following month opens on the 1st of each month at 08:00 JST; the house's own example is that December opens on 1 November at 08:00. When we last read the OMAKASE page (7 September 2026), it allowed one booking per quarter. A small number of phone seats open separately, exactly one week before each date, at 17:00 JST.

Can I book Sushi Sanshin from overseas?

Yes. OMAKASE works from abroad once you have an account with SMS verification and a card, and the official site recommends TableAll for overseas guests. The phone line is Japanese only. In every case the reservation must be in the name of someone who will be at the counter.

How much does Sushi Sanshin cost?

The official site gives ¥30,800 with tax as the base omakase price, adjusted with the season's fish. As a guide figure, TableAll lists ¥40,000, which it says includes its own ¥8,000 booking fee. Cash and cards are accepted; e-money and QR payments are not.

Is Sushi Sanshin open for dinner?

No. It serves lunch only, in two seatings at 11:30 and 14:00, at an eight-seat counter, with irregular closing days. Guests must be 18 or over, and perfume is asked to be left at home.
