Soba house across from Onden Shrine in Jingumae, seven minutes from Meiji-Jingumae Station; 14 seats including a counter. Lunch Wednesday to Saturday from 11:30 ends when the soba runs out, and queues form before opening; Tabelog's store notes say Saturday lunch cannot be reserved and that guests who reserve are asked to order one dish besides soba.

Tamawarai takes reservations by phone in Japanese only. Phone line: 03-5485-0025, Japanese, outside service; Wed–Fri 11:30–15:00 and 18:30–21:30, Sat 11:30–15:00 and 18:00–20:00; closed Sun, Mon, Tue. From abroad, either call at those hours or have a Japanese speaker call for you. If you would rather not, our Tokyo desk can request it for you: ¥12,000 per seat, charged only if the table is secured. A free release-date alert emails you the day before, on the morning of release day (08:00 JST) and about 30 minutes before when the opening time is known; houses that open a little every day come in a weekly summary.
