SHOKU NOREN is a reservation desk in Tokyo. We book tables at the houses that keep Japan’s food culture at its source — many still take bookings only by phone, in Japanese — and help with every meal of your trip.

The name
Shoku (食) is food. A noren is the split curtain a Japanese house hangs at its door: the sign that the kitchen is open, and the threshold a guest is invited to pass.

How we work
Show the steps
- We take your request — no card at this stage — and search until the last date you asked for.
- The moment a seat opens we hold it and send you the details in writing, in your language; your approval confirms it, and the booking fee is charged at that point.
- Whatever the house asks of you — its cancellation terms, a prepayment, details about your stay — reaches you before you approve the table.
- We never arrange paid transport or lodging, and we never claim to book houses that refuse intermediaries — we tell you plainly and point you to the house's own channel.
