Seven private rooms (2–60 guests), all tatami; same-day is sometimes possible, but the rooms argue for booking ahead — especially for wild fugu (mid-Sep to early May) and the garden rooms.

How do I book Kogushiya from abroad?
Kogushiya takes reservations by phone in Japanese only. Phone line: Business hours, Japanese (083-245-0051; FAX accepted); lunch 11:30–14:00, dinner from 17:00 (last entry 19:00); irregular closures. From abroad, either call at those hours or have a Japanese speaker call for you. If you would rather not, our Tokyo desk can request it for you: ¥6,000 per seat, charged only if the table is secured. A free release-date alert emails you the day before, on the morning of release day (08:00 JST) and about 30 minutes before when the opening time is known; houses that open a little every day come in a weekly summary.
