How the book opens

Reservations only. Dinner books online on Tabelog; lunch, and any booking with children, only by phone or the official LINE. How far ahead dates open is not published; a September 2026 review booked about two and a half months ahead.

Exceptions and seasons

Tuesday-Sunday and holidays, lunch 12:00-15:00 and dinner 19:00-22:00; closed Mondays. Six seats; everyone starts at the booked time, and dishes missed by late arrivals may not be served. Cancellation: 50% the day before, 100% on the day.

How do I book KAI from abroad?

KAI takes reservations online through Tabelog, which you can use from abroad with your own account and a credit card. If you would rather not, our Tokyo desk can request it for you: ¥12,000 per seat, charged only if the table is secured. A free release-date alert emails you the day before, on the morning of release day (08:00 JST) and about 30 minutes before when the opening time is known; houses that open a little every day come in a weekly summary.
